Careworks, Mt Evelyn

Careworks commenced in 1999 in response to a growing awareness of individuals and families in need, both from within the local church and the community at large.

 It began as a small initiative of Careforce Church, Mt Evelyn in which donations of food were collected from members and helpers volunteered their time to co-ordinate the provision of services to people in their homes.

In 2002 Careworks moved out into its own premises in Mt Evelyn with Helen Parsons heading up the team with renewed motivation to provide life skills and social connection programs.

In Feb 2008 Careworks moved into the headquarters building of Careforce Community Services Inc. at Lilydale, this has allowed the services of Careworks to become more accessable to a larger number of people in our community.

Careworks, River Valley

River Valley Careworks based in Millgrove was established in 2003 as a partnership between River Valley Church and Careforce Community Services. Originally based from the church office in Warburton Careworks was committed to strengthening and enriching people’s lives and aligned itself with the churches vision to see “a community known all over the district for its demonstration of God’s love by acts of mercy and service”.

In 2006 the River Valley Church office and Careworks office relocated to Millgrove shops, as Millgrove was where the assistance offered by Careworks and the church was most required. River Valley Careworks is operated by a dedicated team of volunteers who provide emergency relief assistance and support to people from the local community.
